Facilitating asset based community development

This chapter examines ways that outsiders, especially in international settings of the ‘south,’ can play a more creative catalytic role within an asset based-approach. It is a personal reflection drawn from years of first-hand practical experience. What works, what doesn’t, what are outstanding issues and questions? They are organised around a number of lessons learned, propositions, examples, and concerns. Though rough and personal, their primary purpose is to share hard-won insights and to prompt others to reflect upon their own experience. (abbreviated author introduction)
