This article introduces the Hewlett Foundation’s refreshed Global Reproductive Equity (GRE) strategy, focusing on improving sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in East and Francophone West Africa. The strategy, developed with input from grantee partners, funders, and stakeholders, addresses the impact of COVID-19 on health systems and emphasizes the need for equity and power shifting in SRHR. Key priorities include strengthening local advocacy ecosystems, promoting positive SRHR narratives, developing solutions to inequity in contraception and abortion access, and supporting legal access to safe abortion. The foundation aims to advance gender equity and improve health outcomes for women and girls, especially those facing significant barriers, over the next five years.
